Hi Fred, Not sure if you would remember me but more over my Mother Rose (Sheffield / Matthews)its been many years. I grew up on your music and concerts which is why every St. Patrick's Day brings back special memories of attending the Carleton Show Band shows / dances from Brampton to Ottawa. I sure miss the music. Here's to wishing you and your family a Happy St. Patty's Day.

I just want to say I miss the days of seeing the Carlton Showband performing. Each year it was a treat for me when Mom and Dad said we were going to the Arts & Culture Centre (St. John's) to see the group perform. I do have to say I feel in love with the Laughing Policemen and Biddy McGraw. I remember Song for The Miner and always cried (and still do) when I hear A Mother's Love's a Blessing. Mike Feeney could pull at any person's heart strings. I do remember once seeing the group with my Nan, who from what I've been told by my mom, would visit her (Julia Locke) when they were in St. John's. I do remember sitting and watching her talk to Mike one day (completely gobsmacked watching that and I remember the thoughts going through my head to this very day). I thought the Carlton Showband were the biggest music going - bigger than The Stones. And I still do. I wish my daughter could have had the fortune of seeing this group they way I did. The impact they Carlton Showband made on me will last forever. And she probably forever look at me funny as I laugh uncontrollably to songs like the Laughing Policeman and Jake the Peg. Too bad you guys can't do one round. But, the memories...they will last a lifetime. Thank you.

It's been a while. Attended your last concert at the Savoy, Glace Bay. I have pics for mementos. I also have A DVD, "Time Gentlemen Please" Farewell Performance. It gets a lot of play & the residents at our Complex really enjoy it. Is it still available cuz there is a part that freezes? I treasure this DVD but I am asked to play it often & would like to have a backup. Wishing you all the best.

I grew up listening to the carlton showband. I remember waking up one night when I was about 5 yrs old to a party in our living room. When I came out of my bedroom it was the carlton showband. My parents John and Shirley O'Connor from St. Catharines were friends of them. Mike Feeneys picked me up and sang aidlveis to me. My dad taught me how to play the spoons to their music. My mom still speaks to seamous although I think it has been awhile. They gave me such amazing memories with their music. I still listen to the songs today on you tube but I would much rather have my own cd's. I wish I could go back in time just for one day.

Oh Mr.Freddie White, I remember you well. All of you. I will keep listening for sure. I have never stopped. I still enjoy listening to all my mom's stories about all the times they shared with you guys. She's 87 and still pretty sharp with all the memories. Thanks for your reply Freddie.

Probably will not be any more CSB shows in the future. All the guys are off working independently and scattered across the country & let's just say getting a BIT older. Keep listening to their music though!

I was your recording engineer for many of your albums at RCA studios. I remember when you guys decided to record the Lord's Prayer. I think it was Johnny that sang it. After a powerful and emotional performance, he came into the control room to silence, but a lot of tears and nodding of heads it was quit reverent until someone said "Lord thundering, but that was a whore"
